Is a Serum Worth the Cost?
A treatment serum, active booster, or super antioxidant is the strongest product and the core of any skin care
line. Powerful ingredients are blended for overall skin rejuvenation and correction. The formulas are very
concentrated which is reflected in the size and in the cost of the product. All serums must be used sparingly.
Serums are formulated to promote skin cell turnover, reinforce the skin’s natural defense barrier and regulate
the skin’s metabolism. Providing powerful antioxidants, vitamins and nutrients will help restore skin from the
damages from the sun, from free radical damage (see Free Radical Damage and Antioxidant Protection for more
information) and protect the skin’s hydrolipidic film.
Further, as we age, the skin loses its ability to retain moisture. The body—80% water—is not filled with simple
water. Rather, it is more like a life-enriched fluid filled with amino acids, minerals, vitamins and enzymes.
The gradual loss of this fluid is one contributor to the breakdown of the skin structure.

We believe that by layering toners, exfoliants, serums and moisturizers the skin is surrounded by a synergistic
blend of antioxidants and other potent ingredients. The key does not seem to lie in one antioxidant or super
ingredient but rather in a variety of potent ingredients at effective levels in stabilized form.
Reflections’ Choice will not make false promises or claims of miracle products that other skin care companies
make, but be assured that with consistent use, our skin care products, with one of our serums at the core,
will reduce the effects of environmental stress and aging, strengthen the elastin fibers that support the skin
of the face and neck, and boost collagen production. You will see real, visible and dramatic improvement (I did!).
You won’t look as though you’ve had a face lift—but you will have gloriously healthy, firm and glowing skin.
Eye Serums are designed to help diminish the network of lines and the appearance of fatigue and discoloration
caused by allergies, pollution, smoking, squinting and pollution. The carefully selected ingredients in our
serum hydrate, moisturizer and nourish this special area. The formula must be light, neither weighing down
delicate eye tissue nor leaving a greasy residue. Care must also be taken that the serum or moisturizer not
contain any ingredients that might irritate the eye.
(Reflections’ Choice eye serum is extremely gentle and will not irritate sensitive eye tissue.). Ingredients are
usually included to address puffiness and dark circles as well as nourishing and moisturizing this delicate area.
While we feel that our eye serum treats the puffiness and discoloration extraordinarily well, you may find that
a treatment serum is sufficient for this area. We encourage you to experiment.
